Site specific installation on Detour HK 2014
By joining the event of MobArt x Detour HK 2014 @ PMQ, I have created the installation according the particular condition at the specified area which along with the corridor's walls.
I found that the two opposite walls of the corridor have the same handrails along with them, and the coincident point is the small "L" shape handler which mounted on the wall for supporting the handrail are both at the position where almost as a reflection of each size. Therefore I came up with an idea that how about to make a reflection effect of the opposite wall, hence I found that the PMQ daily official closing time is 11pm. Then I subjectively supposed the color of the walls would be fading to dark at night because the lighting would be turned off normally.
According to the theme: "Circle of _____", I intuitively painted the 50cm diameter black color circle with acrylic on the wall and the handrail was wrapped with black ribbon for mimicking the darkness environment at night. Finally I added a white and very tiny executive male liked plastic figure toy on the handrail for taking shape as a high wall behind it. It may be a metaphor of nowadays political era. In chinese wording, the artwork title is 午夜12時對面的高牆.
